Age 84, of Delton, Michigan passed away Wednesday February 28th 2018. Ed was born on January 14th, 1934 in Kalamazoo Michigan. Ed was the son of Ebin Sutton and Elizabeth Dalm Sutton. Ed attended WMU where he was the only boy in his art classes. Ed was an outstanding athlete and played basketball, football, and track. He was all-state one year in basketball. Ed was an avid hunter, fisherman, and had a great love of the outdoors. He did allot of consulting work with small fishing tackle companies. He was an advertising manager at Shakespeare Co. while still continuing to do his artwork. His other jobs included Riviera Downriggers, and he was part owner of Cannon Downriggers. He moved to Delton Michigan and started his own business named Sutton's Wildlife Art. Ed was the founder of the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. He did numerous stories and illustrations for several magazines. One of his most passionate projects was a series called Kids Afield he did for the Hastings Reminder. He was a hunting and fishing guide at a lodge called High Arctic Adventures in northern Quebec near the Arctic Circle. It was very unforgiving country, but he loved doing it. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Jean Ellen Brown Sutton, his twin sons Brad and Brook Sutton, his sisters Kathleen Lewis (Bob), Janie Wiley, and Dorothy Buffington, stepchildren Robert Stuut (Suzanne), and Tracy Stuut- Molloy (Philip). He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Sunday April 8th 2018. at Fellowship Baptist Church at 41 North Bedford Rd. in Battle Creek, officiated by Robert Stuut. Visitation begins at 2:00 pm. followed by Memorial at 3:00. Refreshments will follow service.
