Edith Hanft

Edith E. Hanft, age 89, of Holland passed away peacefully into the light and loving embrace of her Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Edith and her husband Heinz Hanft immigrated to the United States in 1956. They lived in Grand Rapids for several years before building a home in Idlewood Beach, the special place on this earth, where the family has called home for over 50 years. Edith enjoyed sewing, working in her flower garden and watching the birds. She was preceded in death by her husband Heinz Hanft in 1997.

She is survived by her children: Brigitte and Jim Hicks of Panama City, FL, Karl and Paula Hanft of Holland, Gabriela Hanft of Holland and Chris Hanft of Holland; grandchildren: Stephen Hicks, Danny Hicks and fiancé Blake Points, Randy Hicks, Jason Hanft, Andrea Hanft, and Alex Hanft; sister: Christel and Manfred Dahlke of Germany; niece: Marion and Albrecht Winter; nephew Eric Dahlke and extended family.
