Passed away Saturday, February 05, 2005 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Weber was born July 7, 1914 in Otsego, the son of Samuel A. and May Weber. In 1918 they moved to Kalamazoo where he graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. He earned a B.A. and a M.A. degree from Western Michigan University. In 1942 in Kalamazoo he married Alice Walter who survives. Earl joined the Air Force and was a weather observer in California and Alaska for four years. After WW II he was a weather observer in Lexington, KY. They moved back to Kalamazoo and ran the Weber and Son Wholesale business for 13 years. Earl taught high school earth science courses and was a guidance counselor at Gobles high school for 15 years during which he and his wife traveled to New Zealand, Iceland and Australia to enrich their teaching. He was member of Sunnyside Methodist Church. Surviving are 3 children; Jane DeMink of Kalamazoo, Nancy Riggs of Kansas City, MO and David WeberShapiro of Berkeley, CA; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Earl is deeply loved and adored by his wife and children. He was deeply devoted to his wife and family. He- gave them his unconditional love and inspiration. He always saw the best in everyone he met. His sense of humor endeared him to others. His encouragement and integrity will leave its lasting legacy. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 12:00 noon, at the Sunnyside Methodist Church in Kalamazoo. Memorial donations may be made to Dr. D. James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries.
