Earl Weatherwax

Earl (Butch) Weatherwax, age 70, of Portage, MI passed away quietly on July 2, 2016 at Rose Arbor. He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1964 and then joined the Navy where he was honorably discharged after four years of service. Butch worked for many years as a Tool and Die Maker. He was a long-time member and actively involved at the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles. He loved to hunt, fish, and cook. He will be remembered for his fun spirit, ability to make people laugh and his eagerness to help others. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kyle and Elizabeth Weatherwax. Surviving are two brothers, Robert of Three Rivers, Thomas of Kalamazoo, and one sister, Lois Farquhar (Bill) of Scotts, two nephews Preston Weatherwax and Ryan Farquhar and one niece Sarah Farquhar. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be at the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles on Sunday July 24 from 1-4 pm. Avink Funeral Home
