Earl Joseph Pfarr, age 88, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015, at the Racine Commons. Earl was born March 20, 1927 in Kenosha Wisconsin, son of the late Gerard J. and Lucille (Nee: Kleist) Pfarr.

He attended St. George School and Kenosha High School. In 1943 Earl enlisted in the United States Navy and received an Honorable Discharge in 1946. Earl attended St. Alberto College of Music and Marquette University. On May 26, 1951 Earl married Rena Ann Maurino. After attending College Earl worked as a mechanical draftsman for 10 years at American Motors and Fansteel Metallurgical. Earl left the draft board to partner with his father, Gerard and brothers Bob, Ralph and George operating “Pfarr’s Super Service” until it was sold in 1987. Earl remained on with the new owner until 1990.

After “retiring” Earl worked numerous part time jobs while following his true passion of teaching his Karate Class. Earl had earned a Black Belt from Reverend Foster in 1973. Earl went on to teach at the University of Wisconsin Parkside for 35 years until 2008. Through the years Earl enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing. Above all he cherished time spent with his family and will be deeply missed.

Earl is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Rena; his sons, Reid (Terri Passehl), Randall, Brian (Cheri Harris), Steven (Jilleen Fobair), and David (Monica Topp); 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, William N. Maurino; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Ralph, George, and Jerry.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 30, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6400 Spring Street, with Rev. Terrance Huebner officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00. The family wishes that any donations go to Seasons Hospice or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the caregivers at Racine Commons and Seasons Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
