Duane Tietze, age 73, of Holland, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on April 18, 2015 after a five year battle with esophageal cancer. He passed surround by his children and cherished pets.
Duane was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Holland, MI. He has been reunited with his wife, Anita; and parents, Ella and Arthur. He has left his legacy with his children, Jason (Laurie), Heather, and Sean (Browyn); and grandchildren, Ava, Joshua, Zachary, Konner, Nevaeh, Maddelyn, and Jamie. He is also survived by his “Chilean daughter,” Natalia; his now unemployed caregiver, Becky; and many extended family members and friends; all of whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of his journey through life will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel; 295 Douglas Avenue. Reverend Ron Kruse will officiate. No visitation is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Duane’s honor to the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation, American Heart Association, or the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
