Obituary
Duane "Duke" Rogers, 60, of Portage, MI, passed away October 13, 2025. His life was full of warmth, humor, and a steady, unwavering love for the people lucky enough to know him. He is reunited with his beloved wife, Sonya Rogers.
Duane was a kind, funny, and gentle soul whose quiet joy for life touched everyone around him. A natural tinkerer, he was always fixing, building, or modifying something to make it just a little bit better. He had a knack for creating and improving, often leaving things better than he found them in a way only he could.
He loved a good long drive, a round of golf, and sharing an easy laugh with friends. But more than anything, Duane loved being a husband, dad, and grandpa. He was known for his steady presence - never given out of habit, always out of love. He made sure those around him never had to wonder how much they meant to him. His warm "I love you, honey" and "I'm proud of you, son" were constants in the lives of those he loved most.
Duane is survived by his parents, Bill and Linda Rogers; his sister, Cyndi Rogers; his children and their families - Steve Rogers, Anna Rogers, Elizabeth (Rogers) Mohney, Austin Guess, and Cory Guess; his closest friends Jamie and Suzy Huntington; and his friends and coworkers who winced each time he claimed something "wasn't even spicy."
A man of heart, humor, and quiet strength, Duane will be remembered for the way he loved, the family he cherished, and the simple joys he never overlooked.
To honor Duane, take the long way home. Roll the windows down. Breathe it in. And let the people you love know when you make it home.
