WILDER, Douglas

Age 85, passed away peacefully at home, leaving his long battle with illness to be ever with his Lord. He is survived by his wife Barbara of 61 years. Doug is also survived by his daughters, Joan (Andy) Wilder-Siersma and Wendy Wilder; grandchildren, Collin (Jennifer Oliver) VanDyk, Dr. Meredith (David Gansberger) VanVleet, and Kaitlin (Anthony) Wilder, and his precious great granddaughter, Shoshanna Wilder. Also surviving are his siblings, Frances Haner, Margaret Strand, David Wilder, Robert (Marilyn) Wilder, Doloris Wilder, Sandra (Norman) Boether, and Frank (Jennifer) Wilder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norma Steele, Fred (Dorothy) Mendricks, Delpha (Richard) Dixon, and David (Peggi) Mendricks; former son-in-law, Steve VanVleet; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lula (Cook) Wilder; sister, Gloria Whitten; brother, Warren Wilder; mother-in-law, Ada Mendricks and brother-in-law, Marvin Mendricks. We are so grateful for the wonderful care given by his loving grandchildren and Faith Hospice. Relatives and friends may meet Friday, June 3rd, from 5-8 PM at Heritage Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4th, at 11 AM at Living Hope Community Church, 2391 Hillside Dr. NW, Pastor James Hogg officiating, with visiting from 10-11 AM. Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
