Dorothy M. Frederiksen, age 88, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 5, 2018 at her residence. Dorothy was born in Racine on April 30, 1929, daughter of the late Nicholas and Agnes (nee: Dadian) Herchian and was a lifelong resident.

Dorothy was a proud graduate of Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1947”. On October 15, 1949 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Dorothy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gilbert R. “Gil” Frederiksen. They shared fifty five beautiful years together before Gil preceded her in death on March 18, 2004. She and her husband were both very active in the Knights of Columbus where they made many strong lasting friendships. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed The Green Bay Packers, Gardening and the annual family 4th of July boat Parade. Above all, Dorothy’s greatest love and devotion was to her family.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her children, Bob (Debbie) Frederiksen, Nikki Johnson (Scott Russell) of Racine; Tim (Jeanie) Frederiksen of Eau Claire, Kristina (Jeff) Musser, Judy (Scott) Towne, all of Maplewood, MN; grandchildren, Michelle (Jared) Hagedorn, Tim Johnson, Christopher (Alexandra) Johnson, Gwen (Garrett) Heiman, Dana (Jacob) Anason, Kayla and Isabelle Towne; great grandchildren, Arianna DePaolo, Dylan Hagedorn and Grace Johnson; brother, Augie Herchian of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lu Widmar, Kathy (Dick) Jackowski and her brother George (Dorothy) Herchian.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. Interment will be the following day at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital have been suggested.
