Dorothy A. Mielcarek, age 96, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the St. Joseph Home, Kenosha, WI. Dorothy was born in Chicago, IL, August 9, 1918, daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Nee: Suslowicz) Mitek.

On October 12, 1940 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Walter Mielcarek who preceded her in death, January 10, 1981. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and St. Richard Catholic Church. Throughout her career she was employed at Hamilton Beach Company, Eitels and at National Food Store. She will be fondly remembered as an excellent cook. Above all she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Jeanette (Thomas) Aegerter, Dick (Debbie) Mielcarek, Dan Mielcarek; her five grandchildren, David Aegerter, Mike (Jane) Aegerter, Scott Aegerter, Sara (Charles) Fischer, Lora (Luke) Sankey; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Mitek; sister, Connie Kuzel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel; and daughter-in-law, Fran.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 7, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested.

A special thank you to Dorothy’s sister, Connie; special niece, Colleen; caregivers at St. Joseph Home and Hospice Alliance; and Chaplain Terry Peterson for their loving and compassionate care.
