Donna Wickens

Donna J. Wickens, age 67, of Portage, MI passed away Monday afternoon, November 7, 2016 at her home. Donna was born April 29, 1949 in Pontiac, MI the daughter of the late Karl and Anne (Hyde) Irwin. Donna was a very giving and caring person. She worked for several years at different restaurants in the Kalamazoo and Portage areas. Donna was very crafty and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and several other crafts. On March 17, 1967 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of nearly 50 years, John Wickens, who survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Christina Edwards, Wendy Wickens, Kathryn Cartwright ; 4 grandchildren, John Michael Wickens, Alicia Poulter, Brady Bond Veltman, Payton Bond Veltman; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Daniel, Natalie, Nathan, and Trenton; brothers and sisters, Karl Hollenbeck, Jim Hollenbeck, Lynnann Schaffer, Kathy Babcock, Billy (Brenda) Irwin, Lori (Steve) Norton, Bruce (Sandy) Irwin; and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan. Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday November 12, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family from 12:00-1:00pm Saturday prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association or Borgess Hospital North One.
