Donna Stevens

Donna Arlene Stevens, age 99, of Paw Paw, MI passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 20, 2015 at Maple Lake Assisted Living, Paw Paw. She was born January 14, 1916 in Lawrence, MI the daughter of the late Albert P. and Flossie M. (Hinckley) Smith. She as a graduate of Lawrence High School, attended Parsons Business College and was employed by the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo. She was a member of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, charter member of the Paw Paw Mother's Club, Paw Paw Sewing Club, 25 year volunteer member of the LakeView Community Hospital Gray Ladies, a Volunteer leader in Cub Scouts, Brownie Scouts and Girl Scouts. Her and her husband Jesse belonged to the Avion Travel Club and traveling extensively throughout the U.S. On May 27, 1939 in Lawrence, MI Donna was united in marriage to Jesse W. Stevens who preceded her in death on June 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ann Curtis in 1999. Surviving are a son, Lynn W. (Sharon) Stevens of Paw Paw; 5 grandchildren, Shauna (Rick) Athey of Decatur, Darick (Rae Ellen) Stevens of Paw Paw, Scott (Karen) Curtis of Mattawan, Bradley (Sandra) Curtis of Paw Paw, and Darci (Michael) Chilla of Gobles; 9 great grandchildren; Rachel L. Athey, Katelyn A. Athey, Jay Z. Stevens, Ashley A. Guizio, Emily E. Chilla, Justin M. Chilla, Corey D. Curtis, Ryan S. Curtis and Kelly M. Curtis; great great grandson, Colten S. Curtis; several nieces and nephews; sister, Frances Jeanette McEwen of Holland, OH; son-in-law, LaMoine (friend, Betty Turner) Curtis. A private graveside service was held at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Michigan, Paw Paw United Methodist Church, or Myasthenia Gravis Foundation. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
