Mr. Donald C. Zeagler age 72, of Grand Rapids, passed away on February 21, 2019. Don is survived by Susan, his wife of 36 years; “grandchildren” Erin, Katie, Josie, Gabe and Bella; brother, Carl Zeagler; sister, Nora (Perry) Sleasman; brother-in-law, Tom (Barb) VanDyken; sister-in-law, Faye VanDyken; special nieces and nephews, Andrew (Quinn), Lindsey (Jer), Valerie (Kris), and Amy (Jesus) and 5 great-nephews. Don was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church and served his country in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor James Blain for all the years of support and Pastoral care, Pastor North Sherrill for all his Spiritual guidance through this difficult journey, Dr. Alan Campbell, Tammy Nelson RN, Dr. Liberty Hoberman, John and Marije Weiss, Eric and Mary Nelson, Pilgrim Manor Nursing Staff, Support from our church family and The Tuesday Night “BBB” Group. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. James Lutheran Church, 2040 Oakwood Ave NE. The Family will receive visitors on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE and again on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Contributions in Don’s memory may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Lutherans for Life, or St. James Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
