Was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on his 65th wedding anniversary, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born December 6, 1924 in Kalamazoo to the late William and Pearl Minnie (Smith) Lesman. Don was united in marriage to Constance "Connie" Sonneville on June 22, 1951. Connie preceded him in death on January 16, 2003. Don served in the U.S. Army during WWII, from February of 1943 until honorably discharged in February of 1946. Don graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. He served The Lord at Cooper Baptist Church for many years. He loved his family and loved Jesus with all of his heart and soul. Don is survived by his children, Jill (Karl) Schmidt, Sherry Touchton, Katherine Lesman and Janet (Jon) Ray; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, William Lesman; and several nieces and nephews. Don was also preceded in death by sons, Craig and Jon Lesman; siblings, Iola Ballentine, Bernard Lesman, Floyd Lesman and Dorothy Imerzel. The family will greet friends on Sunday, June 26th from 3-5pm at Northbridge Baptist Church, 8824 Douglas Ave., Kalamazoo, where a funeral service will take place on Monday the 27th at 11:00am. Pastor George Coon will officiate services. Following a luncheon, the committal service will be at Alamo Township Cemetery.
