Donald Tramontin

91, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born November 7, 1927 in Iron Mountain, MI to the late Frederick and Barbara Tramontin. Donald was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Portage. He was an avid reader who enjoyed the local libraries. He loved to garden, or as he said, "playing in the dirt", and took great pride in his yard. He also had a passion for golf and spent many happy years on Ridgeview Golf Course with good friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Deanie; his brother Ralph; and a grandson, Michael Tramontin. He is survived by his children, Greg Tramontin of Baton Rouge, LA and Laura (Aaron) Woods of Prairieville, LA; four grandchildren, Jacob (Renee) Tramontin, Lucas Tramontin, Hannah Averett, and Donna Averett; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Cameron Tramontin; and a sister, Betty Lou Palmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 17 at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 West Centre Avenue, where friends may visit the family one hour prior at the church from 10-11am.
