Donald "Bruce" Pike, age 80, of Decatur, MI passed away August 24, 2016 at home with his family. Bruce was born February 19, 1936 to Donald "Ted" Pike and Doris (Smith) Pike in Decatur. A 1954 graduate of Decatur High School, Bruce attended Western Michigan College on a football scholarship before serving for three years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Bruce was a volunteer fireman in Decatur and was a lifelong avid fisherman. He worked for many years in the manufacturing sector in supervisory roles, making long lasting friendships along the way. He worked for Rudy's, Allied and Centurion Homes, Cree Coach, Coachman, Lyons Industries, and National Copper. Bruce is survived by his sisters Janice Schonbok, Linda (Larry) Fisher, and brother Phil (Lynetta) Pike. He is also survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen (Baldwin) Pike. Bruce and Karen raised three children who survive, Greg (Joanne) Pike of Yorktown Virginia, Shannon (Christine) Pike of Portland Michigan, and Darcy (Chris) Brown of Anna Ohio along with 5 grandchildren (Jake, Josh, Ali, Rachel, and Rebecca). Friends may call Sun. 3-6pm in the Newell Funeral Home Decatur where funeral services will be held 11am Mon. Aug. 29th with James Abshagen officiating. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery Decatur. Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, American Cancer Society or the National Alzheimer's Association.
