Donald N. Johnson

Donald Nels Johnson, age 80, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, August 10, 1937, son of the late Nels and Annette (Nee: Anderson) Johnson.

Don graduated from Bayview High School “Class of 1956” and served in the U.S. Army. He went on to receive a bachelors degree from U.W. Platteville and a Masters degree from U.W. Milwaukee. On August 10, 1963 he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Boers who preceded him in death November 21, 2001. Don was employed as an educator for 31 years teaching art in Pewaukee for 3 years and then for 28 years at J.I. Case High School. Don was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and currently a member of Trinity Methodist Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir choirs, reading, writing, attending the theater and opera. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his son, Kris (Lisa) Johnson and grandson Andrew of Waukesha; brother, Richard (Mary) Johnson of Oak Creek; sister, Ellen Stomeyer of CO; in-laws, Patricia Radi, David (Linda) Boers, Thomas (Linda) Boers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St. with Rev. Donald Francis officiating. Private interment will take place at Arlington Cemetery, Milwaukee. Relatives and friends may meet Friday at the church 10-11A.M.
