Donald J. Mikowski, Traverse City died, Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was born in Traverse City, Michigan, on August 3, 1950 to John and Catherine (Narloch) Mikowski.

Donald was raised in Cedar and spent the first 20 years of his life on his parents farm before moving to Traverse City where he enjoyed the remainder of his life.

He attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Glen Lake Community High School in 1970.

He began his working career at Phil’s Well Drilling. After a few minor career changes, he spent the majority of his working life as the Manager of Grand Traverse Vending.

He had several pastimes including fishing off his boat on Long Lake, cooking, the occasional game of billiards, and making people laugh.

He is survived by his two sons, Cory and Brandon Mikowski; brother, Stephen P. (Mary Lou) Mikowski; two sisters, Mrs. Lee (Barbara) Sneden, Ann Marie Revett and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his two sons, Sheri Strang.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine Mikowski; brother, Lawrence J. Mikowski and 3 infant brothers.

A memorial service will be held 3pm, Saturday March 11, 2017 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City with Deacon Kevin Endres presiding. An informal gathering will continue from 4pm to 7pm.
