Donald "Don" Matveia, 69, of Como, CO, passed away, unexpectedly, from natural causes on Monday, April 22, 2019. Don graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1967 and graduated from Ferris State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health. He worked as a health inspector for a short time in Colorado but eventually pursued his passion in construction work, which he did for the rest of his life. Don was born in Kalamazoo, MI on September 3, 1949, son of the late Kenneth and Mary Patricia Matveia. He is survived by his children April (Chad) Stockwell and Aaron Matveia; grandchildren Jacob Matveia, Sawyer Stockwell, Dylan Stockwell; sister, Donna (Charlie Glenn) Moses, brother, Kenneth (Lee) Matveia, many nieces and nephews and his Bernese Mountain Dog, Von. The family will be honoring Don's wishes and spreading his ashes in the mountains near Salida, Colorado.
