Donald L. Scantling, age 84, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Racine Commons. Donald was born in Racine February 12, 1932.
Donald proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952-1954. On August 30, 1956 he was united in marriage to Joyce E. Malcolm who preceded him in death, November 24, 2010.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Kyle (Julia) Scantling of Racine; sister-in-law Ann Scantling; grandchildren, Ahnna (Matt) Thornton, Lauren Pettit-Scantling, Kevin Pettit-Scantling; a great grandson, Matthew Thornton, all of Racine; the Adamski and Schultz Families; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife Joyce he was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy; his sisters, June and Louise; and brother, Walter.
Private services with full military honors will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
The family wises to extend a very special thank you to the staff at St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home, Racine Commons and Seasons Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
