Donald J. Piette, age 93, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Don was born in Racine, May 1, 1924, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Nee: Boehme) Piette.

He proudly served in the United States Army. On May 25, 1946 in Belgium Europe he was united in marriage to Henriette F. Frantz, with whom he shard sixty-eight beautiful years. Henriette preceded him in death, December 28, 2014. He was employed by Eisendrath Tannery for many years until his retirement in 1986. Don was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Don enjoyed the outdoors especially golfing and fishing and was an avid Packer and Cub fan.

He will be dearly missed by his children, David (Susan) Piette of Edgerton, WI, Stephen (Lisa) Piette of Racine, Catherine (Michael) Hartman of Blaine, MN; 12 grandchildren, Anne Marie (Adam) Zickus, Julie (Ryan) Olson, Matt (Samantha) Morrison, Megan Piette, Adrienne (Chris) Spangenberg, Jennifer (Mike) Eppinger, DeAnna Piette, Daniel Clark, Justin Piette, Ryan Hartman, Derek Hartman, Carl Hartman; nine great-grandchildren; two special grandchildren, Maggie and Will Sullivan; sisters, Margaret Goeden, Betty Mauer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward (Ruth) Piette; sisters, Rosemary (Joseph) Schiestle, Dorothy (Andrew) Lees; and brothers-in-law, Henry Goeden, Herbert Mauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 10, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, with Rev. Ricardo Martìn officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
