Don was born on November 22, 1926 in Sparta the son of Jerry and Arvilla Catherine (Thomas) Iler.
His hard work ethic and special wit and humor will be missed. He was especially known as being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Don is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elaine Mary Iler; children, Donald Jerry (Carman Maria) Iler Jr., Jane Madeline Dalton, Catherine Elaine (Steve) Siegwart, David Lee (Christine) Iler and Dennis Harold Iler; 12 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren with one more arrival anytime.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lillian Degraaf, Harold Iler and Geraldine Lancour.
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at The Journey Wesleyan Church. The family will greet friends starting at 12 noon. Please sign the guest book and share a message with his family. The family chose Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City.
