Donald Wallace Ennis, age 94, of Noblesville, IN, passed away July 16, 2016. He was born May 23, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska to Clarence and Dorothy Ennis. Donald served his country for 17 years in the United States Navy as a Chief Gunners Mate (AA) (T) . He was a decorated sailor that was awarded the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific (4 Stars), American Area Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Area Medal, Eastern Medals, American Defense (Bronze Letter "A"), Philippine Liberation (1 Star), Bronze Star Metal, and Good Conduct Medal. He later worked in the automotive industry in auto body detail and painting until he retired. He was a member of his local VFW and American Legion as well as the Millersville Masonic Lodge #126 Sahara Grotto. He married Joanne Stout November 14,1959 in Carmel, IN. Donald is survived by his wife, Joanne Ennis; sons, Dennis Ennis and Dorayne "Skeets' Paulson (Linda); daughter, Tammy Ennis; grandchildren, Jayson Lee Ennis (Darcy), Nicholas Ennis, and Denison Lee Gray; step grandchildren, Tammy Bolander (Doug), Jerry Miles (Joni), Tina Cruse (Richard), and Leslie Turpin; greatgrandchildren, Madison Ennis, Jayson Lee Ennis II, and Camdon Ennis; as well as 10 step greatgrandchildren, and 14 step great-greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles "Chick" Paulson; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; and a niece. Services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, at 11:00 A.M. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
