Prediger, Don 5/24/1952 - 11/29/2020 Lawrence Don Prediger, age 68, of Lawrence, died on Sun., Nov. 29, 2020. Don was born in Benton Harbor, to Curt & Jean Prediger and grew up in Fremont and Muskegon. He graduated from Mona Shores High School and earned a B.A. and an M.A. at Western Michigan University. After graduation from college Don went on to live a life filled with adventure, passion, and intrigue in his home on Reynolds Lake with his family and many pets. He relished spending summer days pirating on a pontoon around the lake with a pipe in his mouth, a dog on the front deck, and Jimmy Buffet blaring on the boombox. Don loved few things more than being of service to others, traveling with his family, eating ham, and debating sports and politics. In his words, "I've done just about everything once and I only want to share my remarkable life for which I am thankful." This remarkable life included visiting over 40 countries, ziplining, swimming in cenotes, attending a nudist camp, and festivals like the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Mardi Gras, and Octoberfest. He somehow fit these adventures in while simultaneously devoting nearly 3 decades to Decatur High School, primarily as the principal of the Jr.-Sr. High for the last 16 years of his career. He touched the lives of many students. Don was a member of St Mark's Episcopal Church in Paw Paw, where he also served on the vestry. He was very committed to helping others through his work with groups like United Christian Services, Eleanor's Pantry, and Restorative Justice. Don is survived by his brother, Steven Bouma-Prediger, mother, Jean Prediger, wife, Crystal Fisher-Prediger, and twin daughters, Alex and Kelsey. He is preceded in death by his father, Curt Prediger. Due to the coronavirus there will be no public funeral service or visitation. There will be a private family gathering at a later date to celebrate Don's life. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel & Cremation Services.
