Don Koster was known to his family and friends as a kindhearted and generous man whom almost always had a smile on his face & was ready to make you laugh. He loved his family; customers and business acquaintances as well.

Growing up Don enjoyed many activities including riding horses and barrel racing. Upon getting older his likes changed to anything with gas fueled horse power! Cars, trucks, dune buggies and snowmobiles. He loved racing his dune buggy up at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and has several trophies to prove it. Snowmobiling with his friends and family was also a favorite pastime of Don’s.

Don loved his business and was up at The Garage more than he was at home. Life revolved around buying and selling cars at the auction. Don Koster Auto Sales was truly a family business. Both Dan and Jim pretty much grew up in their dad’s garage learning how to sweep floors, and detailing cars at a young age. He taught them to drive young so they could move the cars around on the lot when needed! A family drive anywhere always involved a cruise through the local car lots – something the boys still do to this day. Don often took Ardy for drives out to the lake shore on Sunday afternoons and always drove through a few of the dealerships.

Cooking was something Don enjoyed in recent years. He liked to try to duplicate things he saw on the cooking channel on his own grill.

Without a doubt Don loved his family and always sought to do special things for them from small things like dropping off a loaf of bread; fruit or flowers to bigger things like a picnic table; grill or something more if he thought you needed it. He was also known to give away random Berlin Raceway tickets to people whom he ran into. Most Saturday nights during the summer would see him and Ardy out at the raceway.

Don will be greatly missed by his entire family; those whom he did business with and many in the local community.
