Dominic Preston Fracassa was a young man who appreciated old world qualities. He was fascinated with stories of his ancestors and with entertainment that opened his imagination to times gone by, yet his interests and his lingo were contemporary and real. He was loyal and kind, sporting and playful. With a heart of gold and a gentle spirit, Dominic took life one day at a time and lived each one to the fullest.

Dominic Preston was born to Dino and Lori Fracassa in Dearborn, Michigan on October 10, 1986. Dominic grew up in Canton, Michigan with his younger brother Anthony. While dad worked for Ford during the day, mom watched over two active boys who threw themselves into sports and competition. Dominic played city league football with the Plymouth Steelers, stuck by the Detroit Lions through the worst of times, went dirt biking with Anthony and generally picked on him, as big brothers will do. Among their fun times, Dominic ranked going to New Smyrna Beach Florida near the top of the list of “Best Ways to Spend Easter Break.”

Dominic graduated from Plymouth Salem High School, where he played football for four years and continued to enjoy all sports. During a family get together, legendary football coach Al Fracassa asked Dominic, "Why are you playing the line with the hands of a quarterback". He also really enjoyed family life that included pet dogs Bella and Leia. Opening day of hunting and fishing season was big deal for Dominic, as was going to the cottage in northern Michigan. He fished for hours and especially liked having Anthony and his girlfriend Laura join him, they were like the three Muskateers. At family functions, Dominic could often be found playing with the children, which was understandable because he was really a kid at heart. He liked movies such as Goonies, Hook, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (the books as well) and 1960s throwback music from The Doors. His favorite greeting was, "What Up?" it was sure to put a smile on the face of anyone who heard him say it. Dominic worked at Ford Motor Company, the Dearborn Truck division, and worked in the body shop. Dominic is the fourth generation of Fracassas to work for Ford.

Safe to say, the greatest time of Dominic’s life was his trip to Italy in 2009. That was because he was with his family, including his grandparents, and he was visiting relatives in the village of Supino. He was extremely proud of his Italian heritage, and he always liked listening to his grandfather tell stories about Italy. Dominic had a rich history and a deep love for his family, and they in turn love him with all their hearts.

Dominic Preston Fracassa, age 28, passed away unexpectedly February 24, 2015. Preceded in death by Grandfather Walter Kleismit. Loving son of Dino and Lori. Dearest brother of Anthony (Laura Tremonti). Cherished grandson of Mary Ann Kleismit, Piacentino and Lina Fracassa. Beloved nephew of Joseph (Joyce), Maria (Mark) Taylor, Michael (Carol) Kleismit, Robert (Shelly) Kleismit, Charles (and the late Trudy) Kleismit . Numerous cousins, family members, and friends. Family will receive friends at Neely-Turowski Life Story Funeral Home 45100 Warren road, Canton, (btwn Sheldon and Canton Ctr Rds) Friday 2-9 PM, with a Rosary at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10Am at St. John Neumann Church, instate 9:30 am until mass begins. Entombment St. Hedwig Mausoleum.
