Dixie J. Peacock, age 73, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away at Rose Arbor on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, with family at her side. Dixie was born in Kalamazoo, the only child of the late Donald and Doris (Stockwell) Jones. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central, Class of 1960, where she learned to love music and was a drum majorette in the marching band and also a state champion baton twirler. Her love of music would stay with her and she later enjoyed listening to live bands and dancing. Dixie had a great personality and enjoyed having fun. She loved to travel and also enjoyed going to the casino. Above all she loved her family and leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. Her warm smile and joyful laughter will be missed. On October 31, 1991, she married Charles W. Peacock who preceded her in passing in 2007. Dixie is survived by three children, Deborah (Todd) Themins, Dean Masters and Christine Pyard; five grandchildren, Joshua Themins, Megan Themins, Kalsee Masters, Justin Bloomfield and Jacob Hainer; three great-grandchildren, Hailee Themins, Shanell Themins and Lennyx Bloomfield; a significant other, David Williams; many close friends. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 21, 2017, beginning at 11:00 AM. Dixie will be laid to rest at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, c/o the funeral home. Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home
