Diane Johnson (Nelson), age 82, of Kalamazoo died on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Diane was born on October 8, 1934 in Petoskey Michigan, the daughter of George and Irene Kopp. Her family moved to Centerville and she attended a one room schoolhouse.

Diane was known as a hard worker and spent many years working at the Upjohn Company and in addition she would take in laundry, ironing and cleaned houses. She took pride in her work and was well known for her crisp ironing skills. Her CB handle was “Snoopy Lady” and over the years made many friends with the truck drivers and was always willing to give directions to a lost trucker.

Members of her family include her two daughters: Deb and her husband Tom Smalla of Otsego and Vicky Chenelle of New York. Other members of her family include her 4 grandchildren: Steve Vansparrentak, Brandi Leonard and Ashley and Amber Nelson, several great grandchildren and her husband Lonny Johnson. She was preceded in death by her son Dale Nelson in 1990.
