Dena Schacher

Darlene "Dena" (Gary) Schacher, age 66 of Traverse City, died March 11, 2018. She was born October 12, 1951 in Martinez, CA to Earl Clyde and Patricia Ann (Fisher) Gary.

Dena was very much into the music industry. She worked as personal manager and owned Platinum Cat, a record store. She also had a modeling career and taught at John Robert Powers. Dena held a realtor license, worked as a baker at Underwoods Farms and in guest services at the casino. She enjoyed artwork, music, boating, resale shopping, antiques, horses, cooking, but most of all, her family; especially her grandchildren.

Dena is survived by her husband, Melvin George Schacher; they were married on May 11, 1981 in Ortonville, MI; son, Jeffrey Brandon and his wife, Katherine Schacher; grandchildren, Jacob, MacKenzie, Esmae, Cecelia and Cordelia; brothers, Ron Gary and family and Steve Gary and family; sisters, Nancy Burnett and family, Lori Hillmer and family and Shirley Accardo; nieces, Samantha and Kristin and many other loving nieces and nephews and long time, loving caregiver, Taneya and many close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karyn Gary; brothers, Robert and Jeffrey Gary and brothers-in-law, Gaylean Burnett and Mike Accardo. Memorial contributions made in Dena's name may be directed to the First Congregational Church. Dena’s family will have a private service to remember her.
