Delores Hazel Miller, age 82, went to heaven, Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Delores was born in Racine, January 17, 1935, to John and Cecelia (Nee: Kirkegaard) Poulsen.

Delores attended Washington Park High School. On June 2, 1956 she was united in marriage to Ralph L. Miller at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. After raising her children she was employed by Beere Precision Products as a burnisher. Delores was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and attended Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). She was always involved in her children’s lives. Delores served as a Girl Scout Cookie Chairman and was known as Grandma “De” at LCR Wednesday night youth dinners. Delores also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school, church and sport activities. The annual family camp weekend at Point Beach was a highlight for all. She organized the annual Kirkegaard family picnic and cherished trips visiting family in Denmark. Games of all varieties were great family pastimes. Our Harmony Club and SPARKS! program at Wustum were her recent favorite activities.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of sixty years, Ralph; her children, Crystal (Randy) Gillmore, Starr (Daniel) Cannon, Jocelyn (David) Standiford; her grandchildren, Rhonda (David) Drager, Matthew (Hannah) Gillmore, Nolan Cannon, Candace Cannon, Tess Cannon, Faryn (Jason) Jahnke, Yannah (Matthew) Rosenquist, and Raymond Standiford; her great-grandchildren, Colette and Charlie Drager, Michael Gillmore, and soon to be baby G (in a few weeks); nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty (Eric) Waehrens, Roy (Pearl) Poulsen, and Maynard (Beverly) Poulsen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017, 12:30 P.M. at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 322 Ohio Street, with Deacon Janice Navarro officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 11:30 A.M. until time of service at 12:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Harmony Club: Respite Care social day programs for elderly or to the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (LCR) Youth have been suggested.

A very special thank you to all who helped Delores in her fight with Alzheimer’s: Aging and Disability Resource Center, Our Harmony Club, The Woods of Caledonia, and Hospice Alliance.
