Delores was born to Wilbur and Georgianna Shaw on October 20, 1923. She attended Kalamazoo Central High School and Maher’s Business College. She was hired as a secretary in the Export Department for The Upjohn Company. After marriage and retirement she worked part time as a secretary to attorneys and at Ruby’s Apparel Shop. Delores was married to Stephen J. DeRight for 54 years before his death on April 18, 2002. They had 4 children: Gail DeRight, Joyce Blankenship and Janice DeRight of Kalamazoo; son, Mark DeRight lives in Lake City, FL; 3 grandchildren: Randy Blankenship, Michael Deichman and Heather Campsmith. Delores and Steve had a very happy marriage taking trips to Florida, Hawaii and Las Vegas.
