Delores A. DePatie, age 79, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Delores was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Racine and given the name of Delores Ann by her parents, Adolph and Anna (Nee: Gurosh) Drozd.

A lifelong Racine resident, Delores attended Holy Name Grade School and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1954”. After graduation she was employed by Christensen Machine Company, then Twin Disc where she met her husband, Allen “Al” DePatie. They were united in marriage on July 30, 1960 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Al preceded her in death, May 1, 1991.

Delores was a member of the Twin Disc “20 Year Club” and was honored to be their first woman Vice-President in 1993. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for many years, starting with the store front church on Washington Avenue in September of 1963. Delores had a great passion for shopping.

She loved her family very much. She was always extremely proud to be known as Gigi to her great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Julie (Thomas) Leicht, Cherie (Tom) Fliess, Lawrence DePatie; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam) Graf, Andrea Leicht, Nicole Fliess, Alexandra Fliess, Katherine (Travis) Spencer, Sara Fliess, Christina Fliess, Cory DePatie, Meghan DePatie; her great-grandchildren, Noah and Lilah Graf, Dakota Spencer, Mackenzie, Haylee, and Logan Pias, Caiden and Kellen Lewandowski, Ramina Fliess, Kaylee Doerrier; sister, Donna (Lester) Heft; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, especially, John (Sandra) Gudwer of Naples, FL and the DePatie family, Chad Lewandowski. In addition, Delores’s group of former SCHS classmates, friends from Twin Disc, Wednesday night dinner group; as well as her forever friends, Bernice, Shirley, and Joanne. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, John (Susan) Drozd; brother-in-law, Donald Crain; her loving companion of sixteen years, Robert H. Leger on August 28, 2009

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 28, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to Pancreatic Cancer Fund or to the Angel on my Shoulder (fantastic cancer support group in St. Germaine).
