Deborah Semmens

Deborah Semmens, a long-time resident of Newburgh, NY and Schoolcraft, MI, passed away early Saturday morning on January 26, 2019. Born in 1954 in Newburgh, NY, Debbie discovered an early passion for healthcare. She received her nursing license from Newburgh Free Academy in 1972 and worked for St. Luke's Hospital and Highland Hospital before moving to Schoolcraft, MI in August 1987. While in Michigan, Debbie continued her nursing career at Tendercare Portage and the Laurels of Galesburg as a Nurse Supervisor until her retirement. Debbie loved spending time with her family and pets and enjoying a cup of black tea and a cannoli, her favorite treat. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles John Semmens and Mary Anna Semmens. She is survived by her lifelong partner Gerald Raymond Hopper, her sons Ronald Jason Barone and Shane John Semmens, and her sister Mary Theresa Semmens.
