Dean C. Gould, age 86, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Dean was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, August 2, 1929, son of the late George and Anna (Nee: Smith) Gould.

From 1948 to 1951 Dean honorably served the Michigan National Guard as sergeant qualifying as Marksman. A proud member of the 20 Year Club, Dean was employed at J.I. Case Company for many years, retiring in 1989, after which he continued as customer liaison and provided logistic support for Case Farm Progress Shows.

Dean was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand whether for family, friends, or his community. As a longtime member of Plymouth Congregational Church he served as endowment chair, and more recently, at Bethania Lutheran Church with service to Thread by Thread. He also worked for and served on the board of Toys for Tots. Whether scouring the beaches of Ft. Meyers FL for the perfect shell, teeing up for a round of golf, casting his line into the Brule river behind the family cabin up north, or searching the snowy woods with his closest friends to find the best hunting spot, he was always truly at home in the outdoors. Above all else, Dean deeply cherished his wife, Ginny, and lived every moment of his life, start to end, surrounded by his loving family.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Ginny; his children, Susan Gould (Gilbert Gonzalez), Kristin Gleason, John (Bonnie) Gould; his grandchildren, Justin Pahnturat, Kelly Gleason, Tim Gleason (Monica), Desiree (Ryan) Stookey, Summer Gould, James Lubinski, Michael Lubinski; his great-granddaughter, Aurora Gleason; son-in-law, Ken (Melinda) Gleason; brother, Jerry (Mary Anne) Gould; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ken (Ruth) Dupuis, Phyllis J. LaFrance; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Gould; and brother, Maurice (Jane) Gould.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Avenue, with Rev. Heather Bumstead and Rev. Ron Segedy officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to the Health Care Network or Ryane’s House of Hope have been suggested.

A very special thank you to Wheaton Franscican staff, caregivers Karen Murillo and Julie Jerstad, and our angel Dr. Diana Turner, for their loving and compassionate care.
