David Oakland

David D. Oakland, age 83, died on December 27, 2016 at his home in Sarasota, FL with his family at his side. He was born in Kalamazoo to Ralph and Ruth Oakland who preceded him in death as did his brother, Ralph and sister, Phyllis. David attended the W.M.U. training school and graduated from New Hampton Prep. School in New Hampshire and Michigan State University. He retired as Vice President in trust services at F.O.A. (P.N.C.) He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda (Barbiers), his daughter Deborah (Ron) Parker of Belleview, WA, his son, David (Patti) Oakland of Kalamazoo, his sister, Barbara (Don) Johnson of Portage, 4 granddaughters, Kristin, Samantha, Courtney, and Danielle, and 4 great grandchildren.
