David Wilbur John, age 90 of Holland died October 28, 2015. He was a veteran of the Navy serving in WWII.

David was an active member of First United Methodist Church, worked for Parke – Davis for 29 years, and

enjoyed many mission trips to Alaska and Lake Louise.

He was preceded in death by a son Robert L. John; son in law John P. Stack Jr.; brothers Robert and Kenneth John.

David is survived by wife of 68 years Dorothea; children, Karlene Stack, Larry John,

Vickie and David Whipple, and Steve and Pat John; daughter-in-law, Sally John; grandchildren; John and Katherine Stack, Peter and Sarah Stack, Adam and Veronica Stack, Nicholas John, Richard John, Jaime Whipple, Andrew Whipple, Ryan and Tami John, Stephanie and David Morgan, and Tracy and Bradley Bredeway; 12 great-grandchildren;

Sisters, Ruth Prins and Eileen Mattson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral and military services will be 11 am Monday, (November 2), at the First United Methodist Church, 57 West 10th Street, with Mr. David Newton and Rev. J. Lynn Pier-Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 pm Sunday, (November 1), at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street.
