Our beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle, David Phillip Fredenburg left us to join his Lord in heaven Friday afternoon, July 26, 2019, in Lansing. David, the third son of T. Ashton and Mary Ellen (Long) Fredenburg, was born in Kalamazoo on June 24, 1963. After 18 years of growing up in Kalamazoo, being in Scouts and delivering newspapers, David graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, class of 1981. After high school he attended Lansing Community College and earned an Associate degree in General Studies. While at LCC David met another student, Linda Lorraine Ray and they fell in love. David and Linda were married February 15, 1986 in Eaton Rapids and made their home in Lansing. David was employed in custodial and retail positions most of his working years. In the fall of 2010 he suffered a major CVA (stroke) that left him with disabilities. David was a gifted artist; doing beautiful work in photography, ceramics, wood working, and needle crafts. There are several babies in the Lansing area who received quick point blocks with bells inside. Family member cherish items that David did punch embroidery designs on. He frequently helped friends and neighbors in any way he could. David is survived by his wife, Linda of Lansing, his dog Sassy Sue Twiggy; which was his baby, his parents, Ashton and Mary Ellen Fredenburg, his two brothers, Larry (Barbara Wert) Fredenburg, Robert (Sally) Fredenburg, niece and nephew, Jonathan and Elizabeth Fredenburg, all of Kalamazoo. Also surviving are three aunts, two uncles and several cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents. A visitation will be held Friday August 2, 2019 at 6:00pm 8:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel 900 E Michigan Ave. Lansing, MI 48912. A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held August 3, 2019 at 11:00am with a one-hour prior visitation at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel 900 E Michigan Ave. Lansing, MI 48912. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in David's name to any of the following organizations; SPOHNC, American Red Cross, the Boy Scouts of America, or Ingham County Animal Control.
