David F. Scott Jr.

David F. Scott Jr. 84, resident of West Palm Beach Florida, (formerly of Racine), died December 28, 2015 after a short illness. He was born July 25, 1931 in Stamford CT., eldest son of David F. Scott Sr., and Madelyn M. (nee: Weigandt) Scott.

During WWII the family moved to Stratford CT., David was a graduate of Stratford High School, Class of '49. After Dave graduated from High School he enlisted in the United States Navy Stationed aboard the USS WISCONSIN during the Korean War. Dave did his basic training at Great Lakes Naval Base, and it was there he met his future wife Frances C. DeRose. In 1955 after his tour of duty, David & Frances married, and settled in Racine, WI.

Dave, the only non-Italian in Fran's large Italian family, was instantly loved. With his sweet smile, affable personality, and truly kind nature, Dave made many friends in Racine. A gifted athlete, Dave excelled at sports. He loved bowling, racquetball, swimming and golf. In 1956 Dave and Fran welcomed a son, David F. Scott III, and in 1958 a daughter, Rita Marie Scott.

After thirty-seven years of service with Wisconsin Energy, Dave retired to West Palm Beach in 1989 with Fran. Sadly, Fran died in 1991. In December of 1994, David married Marie Louise. They were married until 2001, when "Lou" died of cancer. Then in 2004 Dave married Claireann Tourder, "the girl next door". They enjoyed 9 years of cruising, traveling Europe, golfing, and card playing. In 2013, Claireann died of cancer. With Dave's personal style, he continued living life. Always enjoying the Florida sun, Dave continued playing great golf, swimming, and enjoying his family.

Dave is survived by his two children, David III, his wife Marina, their two children Ashley Brooke and Austin David; Rita Scott Harris, her two children George Mitchell, and Bennett Francis; his only brother, George G. Scott, and his wife Norma. Dave is further survived by Claireann's daughter Cynthia Mielcarek, and her sons Johnny (Ashley) Matthew, and Luke; brother-in laws: Anthony Lipari, Richard DeRose, Bill Chiappetta, Louis Pillizzi, Roger DeRose; sister-in-laws: Jennie Venturini, Olivia Lipari, Virginia DeRose, Josephine Chiappetta, MaryJane Pillizzi, Georganne DeRose and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wives, Dave was preceded by one his favorite golf partners, and brother-in-law, Ray Venturini.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 2, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested for future distribution to Dave’s favorite charities.
