Went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning July 18, 2017 with his loving wife Carol at his side. David was born November 21, 1942 in Dallas, Texas the only child of Howard E. and Marjorie (Weimeister) Bucklin. They returned to Kalamazoo shortly after David's birth to be close to family. David was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and Western Michigan University. He taught blind mobility training in the Livonia Schools System for 7 years. While in Livonia, he also obtained his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. He returned to the Kalamazoo area and practiced law for many years. David attended Westwood United Methodist Church. On June 9, 1995, he was united in marriage to Carol J. Tolis-Bucklin who survives. Also surviving, a step-daughter, Anna Tolis (John Sheehy) of Ann Arbor; and a granddaughter, Greta Sheehy. He is survived by cousins Lynn Weimeister (Don Gilmer), John Weimeister, Terri (Walt) Girardi, Laura (Steve) Eshuis and Cindy (Rick) VanBeck. David will be remembered for his love of collecting things including antiques, and his Great Pyrenees dogs, especially Zhivago. His friends will remember him for his ability to have a joke for almost any topic! A memorial gathering and visitation will be announced at a later date. Private burial will take place in Mt. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Friday, August 4th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Friends may meet the family 5-7pm Thursday, August 3rd at the chapel.
