David Anson

David L. Anson, Sr. of Kalamazoo, MI passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday morning, January 6, 2018 at the age of 82. Dave was born October 15, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Robert and Beatrice (Ohlin) Anson. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was honorably discharged in February of 1972 and retired from the Fabri-Kal Corporation after 19 years. Dave was united in marriage to Beverly Heath on August 2, 1957. Surviving Dave are his wife, Beverly Anson; his children, Dave (Ruth) Anson, Jr,; Diane (Chip) Lunt; 4 grandchildren, Megan Gest, Lindsey Petrie, Morgan Gardner, Molly Linebaugh, ; 8 great grandchildren; sibling, Darlene Gillespie; and many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by 3 siblings. The family would like to thank WMU Aging Services, Hospice of Southwest Michigan and Heritage Directors Hall for their love and wonderful care of Dave. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, January 10th from 10-11am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where a funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11 am. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 2:30pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
