Darlene Slater

Darlene Slater, age 67, of Bangor, MI passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at her home. Darlene was born November 11, 1948, in Hardy, Arkansas the daughter of James and Oma (Vardell) Pendergrass, and has resided the past 16 years in the Bangor area. She was a member of the UAW Local #488, and an honorary member of the American Legion. She retired from General Motors after 25 years. Darlene enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching her birds. Surviving are her fiance, Jake Goens of Bangor; 2 sons, Bob (Kim) Slater of Kalamazoo, Tom (Patty Milam) Slater of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Beth, David, Jacob Slater; sister, Bettie (Richard) Kilburn of White Pigeon; brother, James (Kathryn) Pendergrass, Jr. of Mendon; and 2 nieces and a nephew. The family will meet friends 11 AM - 1 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home where the funeral service will be at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, MI.
