Dana Paap

Passed away Wednesday morning December 5, 2018 at her residence surrounded by family. Dana was born on November 3, 1943 in Albion, Michigan a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Hoag) Weitzel. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 32 years and was employed as an LPN with Borgess Women's Health before retiring in 2011. Dana was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Burrows; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Cooper. On September 5, 1964, she was united in marriage to Wolfgang "Wolf" H. Paap who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Debbie (Chuck) Farrugia of Kalamazoo and Erich (Sue) Paap of Columbus, OH; 4 grandchildren, Lucie, Nick, and Lily Farrugia, and Connor Paap; 2 sisters, Carol Cooper of Grand Rapids and Alice Bonfante of West Palm Beach, FL; a brother, Philip (Debbie) Weitzel of Homer, and special friend, Sister Rose Roberts of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place in East Eckford Cemetery, Homer, MI. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Society.
