Dale Allen Van Hamersveld began his earthly journey on May 24, 1929, son of Herman G. Sr and Magdalene Van Hamersveld in Kalamazoo, MI. He married the love of his life Dorothy Mae Lindemulder on July 18, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA. They had two children, Michael Dale Van Hamersveld (Peggy) and Terri Lynn De Jong (Jack). Dale's passions, besides Dorothy, include his love for and trust in God whom in knew through his Savior and Lord, Jesus; his 10 grandchildren; the retail furniture store Van's Furniture, which he bought from his Father Herman and partnered in with his brother Herman Jr; the churches he belonged: Southern Heights CRC, Third CRC, and Church of the Servant; the cause for women in church offices through the Committee for Women in the CRC; travels in most of the states and many countries on six continents; relaxing at Lake Michigan and Gull Lake; reading. Dale began his eternal life on Thursday, April 21. Dale is survived by his partner of almost 72 years Dorothy; children Mike (Peggy) and Terri (Jack) De Jong; grandchildren Jack (Sonya), Paul (Elizabeth), Mike (Colleen), Lynn (Zachariah), Rachel (Aaron), Matt (Adeola), Sarah (Mario), Samuel, Sarah, and Nathaniel. Preceding Dale in death are his parents Herman Sr and Magdalene and Brother Herman Jr (Angie) Van Hamersveld. Dale and Dorothy are generous people in giving of their time, money, prayers, love, and lives to people of all walks of life and to the cause of Jesus. Dale will be missed by many. Funeral service is at Zaagman Memorial Chapel Grand Rapids on Saturday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation 10:00-11:00, and fellowship lunch after the funeral. Internment is at Mt Everest Cemetery on South Westnedge Street Kalamazoo at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, April 29, with visitation 12:00-1:30 at Zaagman.
