Cynthia Barrus

Cindy passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, MI, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on December 23, 1960 in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of Ruth Coburn and the late Merle (Tuffy) Barrus. Cindy was an electrician and a member of IBEW Local # 131. She was an avid motorcyclist and a member of HOG for many years. She was passionate about horses and loved taking care of them and riding. Many people knew Cindy for her love of tractors, and many weekends she would be found on her tractor. She is survived by her daughter, Tara Wright; grandchildren, Breanna Leslie and Jack Leslie; great grandchild, Carley Waller; sister, Victoria Hook; niece, Ginger Barrus; great nephew, Dylan Barrus; stepsiblings, Cheryl and Jerry; and special friend Joni and Cousin Roy. Cindy was preceded in death by her stepsister, Pam Evertte, and stepfather, Bruce Coburn. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 13, 11 AM until time of service at 12 PM at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock Township.
