Cora Mae Pierce, 92 of Traverse City, was born, April 4, 1923 in Beulah, and passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 at Tendercare of Traverse City.

She worked at Park Place Hotel, waitressed at Brady’s and then became a full time housewife, watching over her children and grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Alec and Dorothy (Moser) Mallion. On Dec. 21, 1941 she married Ralph W. Pierce. Together they raised two children; daughter, Barbara (Pat) Comrie and son, Ralph (Linda) Pierce, who survive her.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Larry (Chris) Roush, R.W. (Trisha) Pierce, Sean (Kelly) Comrie, Karrie (Jason) Edmonds and Lindsey Pierce; 11 great-grandchildren, Robert, Ryan, Brandon, Darrian, Cayden, Brandon, Bailey, Wyatt, Leland, Max and Gavin; brother and sister, William (Dee) Mallion and Dorothy Jo (Ted) Dietz.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Alec and Dorothy; her husband, Ralph W. Pierce, who died on Nov. 13, 1992; brothers, Lou, Bob, Barton, Rex and Delbert Mallion; and sisters, Peggie Chance and Nora Mae Dewar.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at the Inland Baptist Church, Interlochen, with the Rev. John Gleason officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior.
