Surrounded by her loving family, Colleen M. McCormick, age 52, lost her battle with ALS on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at her residence. Colleen was born in Viroqua, WI, June 16, 1963, daughter of William and Janet (Nee: Eichman) McCormick.

Colleen was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1981”. Continuing her education she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Carthage College in 1997 and became a Registered Nurse at Gateway Technical College in 2001. Colleen was previously employed at Wheaton Franciscan Emergency Room and at the VA Hospitals in North Chicago and Milwaukee. She had excellent culinary skills and a passion for reading, traveling, the outdoors and taking long walks.

She will be sadly missed by her fiancé and caregiver, James Kroes II; her children, Meghan Shelby, Erin Shelby (fiancé, Juan Ramirez), Brendan Shelby; her grandchildren, Trinity and Francisco Ramirez; her parents, William and Janet McCormick; sister, Patricia Powell; brother, Kevin (Dena) McCormick; nieces and nephews, Bridget (Miguel), Colin, Sean, Cheyenne, Johna, Caden, Joseph, Lianet, Angel, Melanie; the father of her children, David Shelby; aunts, uncles, other relatives and dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 2, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Avenue, with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to the family have been suggested.

A special thank you to the Allay Home and Hospice caregivers and Froedtert Memorial Hospital ALS Unit for their loving and compassionate care.
