Formerly Bloomingdale Passed away suddenly, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 after a military accident in New Mexico. Cole was born December 17, 1994 in Allegan, the son of Robyn and Richard Wixom. Cole graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 2013 and enlisted in the US Army in 2016. He served with the 1/36th Infantry Regiment 1st Stryker BCT and had completed one tour in Afghanistan. He had recently reenlisted and was set to be stationed in Tacoma, Washington this April. Cole played baseball for Bloomingdale and was very involved in Allegan County 4-H where he showed dairy cows, goats and swine starting at age 4 all through high school. He loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed traveling and hiking with his wife and brothers. Cole truly lived life with passion and will be deeply missed. Surviving are his wife, Abbi; his parents, Richard and Robyn Wixom; 3 brothers, Marshall (Morgan) of Phoenix, Miles and Trace of Bloomingdale; grandparents, Kathryn Wixom of Gobles; Julie Langenderfer of Oregon; Robert (Donna) Langenderfer of Ohio; mother-in-law, Theresa Ellenwood; and father-in-law,Theodore Bernstein. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Stanley Wixom, and a baby brother, Sky. Following his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will meet friends on Saturday, February 2nd at the Bloomingdale High School from 11 AM until time of memorial service at 1 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the National Park Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L.
