Clifford Samules

Clifford Lee Samuels age 92, of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away peacefully Sunday, July 22, 2018 with family at his side. Clifford was born April 23, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Clifford and Marjorie (Delanty) Samuels. Clifford proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to the former Margaret Hughes. Clifford was a longtime member of the American Legion, McGowen-Johnson Post 68 in Paw Paw, MI, and St Luke's Episcopal Church in Kalamazoo, MI; where he served in the Vestry many times. Clifford was a Professor at Ferris State University; where he served as chairman of Academic Honors. He also taught at General Motors Training Center. Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 71 years; Margaret "Peggy" of Kalamazoo, his children; John D. (Donna) Samuels of Lebanon, TN, James (Wendy) Samuels of Mecosta and Marjorie (Craig) Vaughan of Kalamazoo, daughter in-law; Sharon Samuels and 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, brother; Thomas Samuels of Annapolis, MD, sister; Marjorie (Michael) Corso of Bradenton, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Clifford was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Samuels, and brother; Jack Samuels and sister; Eloise Hoeck. Services for Clifford, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St., Kalamazoo, MI, will begin with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dr. Randall Warren will officiate at the 3:00 p.m. Celebration of Life service. Full Military Honors, conducted by the American Legion McGowen-Johnson Post 68, Paw Paw, MI., will follow.
