Clifford French

86, of Lawton, passed away Thursday August 1, 2019 in Kalamazoo. He was born January 24, 1933 to the late Orel E. French and Lois (Edger) Williams. Cliff served in the Army, he loved fishing with his brothers, working around his garage and yard, listening to country music, playing the guitar and especially inappropriate jokes and was affectionately known as "Coach". Cliff loved his family and his cats, he was very outgoing and never met a stranger he did not like, he was always willing to help anyone. Cliff is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Perry) French, three daughters, Deborah (late Robert) Shephard, Cheryl (Doug) Maggert and Brenda (Roger) Smith; two grandchildren, Gregory Fischer and Sean (Kate) Maggert; two Great-Grandchildren, Maddie Maggert and Connor Maggert and his brother, Junior French. Clifford was preceded in death by his son, Dennis R. French, brothers, Merle French and Ray French. Cremation has taken place. A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
