Clifford Allen

Allen, Clifford Clifford Allen, age 90, of Warrior, Alabama, passed away February 17, 2017 at Plainwell Pines Nursing Center in Plainwell. He was born March 28, 1926 in Warrior, Alabama where he lived until he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Cliff served the United States Army and Air Force with pride and dedication. He served in the Army during WWII and the Korean War. Following Korea, Cliff served in the Air Force during Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star. After his service in Vietnam, Cliff moved to Spain where he lived with his wife, Judy, who preceded him in death. In 2013, after living in Spain for 40 years, he returned to the United States to Michigan to be closer to his son and grandchildren. Cliff enjoyed working with model trains and railroading, but most of all, he had a lifelong love for jazz music. Cliff is survived by his son, Julian "Jay" (Kelly) Allen, three grandchildren, Aidan, Arianna and Mariah Allen, along with his sister, Eunice Anderson. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Ben Bowater officiating. Cliff will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warriors or the Talons Honor Flight.
